Ingredients
- 1 sweet potato
- 1/2 cup water
- pinch of salt
- pinch of turmeric
Directions
Prick holes in the sweet potato and wrap it in a damp paper towel. Microwave for around 3 minutes (this heavily depends on your microwave…just nuke it until it’s steamed.)
Let cool to the touch, then scoop out the inside and discard the skin. Blend with 1/2 cup water, salt, and turmeric. (The salt and turmeric are 100% optional. Your dog will love just the sweet potato. I also think this would work with carrots, banana, etc.)
Set your treat holder upright in a ramekin (or cup, or bowl) and pour mixture in. I put the smaller end down and poured into the larger end. Let freeze overnight.

A medium sized sweet potato yielded almost two cups of mixture. Tipsy is spoiled and has two honeycomb kongs. I will be able to fill them both twice. I’ve just kept the unfrozen portion in the fridge. It took her over 30 minutes to empty one, but she’s a total beast when it comes to emptying a kong.
